Wright was born in Ohio in 1835. He married Miss Adaline Hurlburst in Ohio on March 23, 1859 and later in his life, came to Park County in 1889. He homesteaded in the extreme southwestern part of Park County in an area west of Herring Park close to the intersection of Park, Chafee and Fremont counties. He died on April 11, 1911 and is buried in Canon City next to his brother Seth.
