Lake George ice was famous for its purity, unsurpassed by any other in the state. This ice house had a cutting capacity of 250,000 tons of ice. Lake George ice was used by the entire Colorado Midland system and also by several other railroads in the state. They also sold about 25,000 tons a year to the Colorado Springs area.<br />
