Allen's Corner Saloon now Como General Store

 

Early professions in Park County included mining, but also ranching, and timbering with the development of the railroad. As towns and settlements increased in population, general stores and saloons began to make their appearance, many of them catering to the needs of miners.

The businesses that emerged reflected the wants and needs of its residents. This included items such as mining equipment, clothes, and general goods. Recreational buildings, such as saloons, began to spring up as well. These businesses catered to locals as well as the many who traveled to and from Park County on the Denver, South Park & Pacific Railroad.
