Oral histories provide a unique and personalized source of the events of the past. Marie Chisholm, a resident of Fairplay Colorado, recounts the eventful memories of Park County through her lifetime in an interview with Linda Bjorklund on July 5th, 2002.[1]

Marie moved to Fairplay at a young age, and supported herself at 14 working several jobs, including night shifts at the Fairplay hospital. She recounts her time in school and the demographics of her class, experiences with patients in the hospital, the state of Park County during World War II, population shifts she experienced, and other significant moments of her life in Fairplay.
